Iris Beta Privacy Notice

This notice explains what the Iris beta website collects, why it is used, and what remains private on your computer.

Information we collect

The application collects your name, email, age range, country or region, device and operating-system information, creative workflow, testing availability, application answers, and any optional social information you choose to provide. If accepted, the portal also stores your beta access status, masked license information, feedback reports, any screenshots or photos you deliberately attach to those reports, and administrative history.

How the information is used

We use this information to evaluate applications, create tester accounts and activation keys, send program emails, provide downloads, understand which systems and workflows need coverage, manage required check-ins, review feedback, and improve Iris.

Your creative work

Iris projects are designed to remain on your computer. The beta website does not automatically upload your manuscript or world-building files. Creative excerpts, screenshots, or recordings are received only when you deliberately include them in feedback, an email, or another supported submission.

Optional social information

Social questions are optional. Social answers do not determine acceptance. Public posts will not be reposted by Iris beyond the permission you selected, and “please ask me first” always requires a separate request before reposting.

Service providers

The beta program uses Supabase for accounts and application data, Resend for email delivery, Keygen for activation licenses, Cloudflare for the domain and website delivery, and OpenAI Sites for website hosting. These providers process only the information needed to deliver their part of the service.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell beta applicant information. Information may be shared with service providers that operate the beta program, when required by law, or when necessary to protect the security of Iris and its users.

Retention and requests

Application, license, feedback, and audit records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to operate and evaluate the beta, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. You may ask to review, correct, or delete eligible personal information by emailing beta@newdawnliterature.com. Some security, licensing, or legal records may need to be retained.

Applicants under 18

Applicants under 18 require parent or guardian consent before acceptance. Iris may request that consent before issuing beta access.
